Batch information
Porcelain paving is a man-made product crafted in batches and may exhibit variations in colour and texture from batch to batch. This potential variance means that the porcelain you receive upon ordering may differ slightly from the samples sent, or our showroom displays viewed before making your purchase. To maintain product consistency, we advise against combining different sizes as these will inevitably be different batch codes. It is industry standard to allow an additional 10% on all orders.
Should you have any concerns about these variations, please reach out to our sales team for personalised guidance. We recommend keeping note of the โbatch colour codeโ labelled on the packaging of the delivered porcelain. This is a white label of the side of the pallet and also the packing of each individual slab.
While we strive to source the same batch for future orders, this isnโt guaranteed. Therefore, we encourage ordering sufficient quantities initially to maintain uniformity in your project.
Split packs
Split Packs Available
We offer split packs on selected paving products, including natural stone paving (sandstone, Limestone, slate, granite) and our best-selling 600×900 porcelain paving. This allows you to order the exact square metre coverage you need, helping you avoid the cost and waste of buying a full pack.
This option is ideal forย smaller projects, patios, pathways, or topping up an existing order.
Please note:
- Split packs are available onย selected products only
- Mixed-size porcelain paving packs cannot be split

Help & advice
Measurement
Make sure you measure from the longest point to the longest point, side to side and front to back. Use our coverage calculator to help you know what your requirement coverage is.
Add 10% Extra
The recommended industry standard is that you add 10% extra to your total measurements to allow for cuts, wastage, breakages and spares. By placing your order with us, you confirm that you have added this 10% extra as part of your own calculations and purchase.
Minimum Order
We can sell the paving by the sqm, however, for optimal transit, we recommend ordering a minimum of 5 sqm to ensure proper pallet weight.

Ivory Mint Sandstone Paving (Fossil Mint Honed)
Ivory Mint sandstone paving, also known as Fossil Mint sandstone, is a popular choice for creating a bright, modern patio with a natural finish. With its warm beige and soft cream tones, this smooth honed sandstone brings a clean, elegant look to any outdoor space while still offering the unique character of natural stone.
Each slab features subtle fossil markings, veining, and tonal variation, meaning no two pieces are ever the same. This natural variation creates a more authentic and high-end finish compared to manufactured paving.
The honed surface provides a smooth, contemporary feel with sawn edges for sharp, straight lines, making it ideal for both modern garden designs and traditional properties looking for a more refined finish.
Key Benefits
- High-quality Indian sandstone paving slabs
- Smooth honed finish for a sleek, modern appearance
- Light, neutral tones to brighten patios and garden spaces
- Durable and suitable for patios, pathways, and outdoor areas
- Excellent value compared to other natural stone options
Each slab is unique, adding natural character to your project
Important Information
Ivory Mint sandstone is a natural product, so variations are to be expected. These may include differences in colour and shading, fossil markings and veining, as well as small pits, pores, or surface irregularities.
These are completely normal characteristics of natural stone and should not be considered defects.
As sandstone is porous, we recommend sealing the paving after installation to help protect against staining, moisture, and algae growth, as well as enhancing its overall appearance.
Colour and Image Disclaimer
All images are for guidance only. While we make every effort to accurately represent our Ivory Mint sandstone paving, natural stone can appear different depending on lighting and conditions.
The stone may appear lighter and softer in tone when dry, and richer and more vibrant when wet or sealed. Variation between packs is normal and helps create a more natural, blended finish once laid.
In Summary
Ivory Mint (Fossil Mint) sandstone paving is ideal if you are looking for a smooth, modern patio slab that combines natural beauty, durability, and value, while embracing the unique characteristics that only real stone can offer.
To ensure your project runs smoothly, there are several important considerations to keep in mind when your paving arrives and during its installation.
Honed sandstone paving is a beautiful choice for outdoor spaces, as it features a flat, even surface that has been sawn and smoothed for a refined look. The honing process uses abrasive tools to eliminate rough spots, resulting in a smooth finish perfect for modern and contemporary gardens. This type of paving is typically cut to a calibrated thickness, making installation simpler. Often, the slabs come with sawn straight edges and natural imperfections like chips and divots, which add to their character. Ivory Mint Sandstone stands out as the softest of natural stones, offering a contemporary texture. Keep in mind that it will have natural imperfections, such as divots along the slabs and edges, which are inherent to sandstone. These divots and chips are unavoidable and do not impact the integrity of the slabs, making them usable
When your paving order arrives, itโs normal for the slabs to appear dusty and grey. Natural Indian Sandstone is typically very pale and pastel in tone, which can make it look dull and grey, unlike the pictures you see on our website. Donโt worry; this is perfectly normal! To better identify the colours, we recommend wetting down the surface of the slabs before installation. This will enhance the colour variable and help you see the different tones, allowing you to create a more even colour palette throughout your paving area.
Each crate of slabs is randomly selected and may not contain an even colour distribution. Therefore, if you are ordering multiple pallets, we advise taking slabs from each pallet during installation for the best results. As sandstone is very porous, it will absorb moisture, and over time, the colours will become more vibrant.
We also recommend ordering all the paving for the same area at the same time, even if you plan to install it over an extended period. This ensures a good blend of colours. Natural stone is unique and not batch-coded, so any paving purchased later may not come from the same quarry or section of the quarry, leading to noticeable colour variables compared to your existing patio. If you are adding to an existing natural stone patio, please contact us and send us some images. We can help you find a suitable match.
When installing natural stone, it is advisable to use a priming slurry, SBR, or preferably both. These should be applied to the back of the slabs before installation. Apply the SBR to the back of the slab and allow it to dry. This creates a protective barrier that reduces moisture absorption, helping to prevent efflorescence and minimise staining from the base. Additionally, a priming slurry should be applied across the entire underside of the slab to improve adhesion to the base. This ensures full contact, reducing gaps that can cause mirror staining, which appears as white marks on the slabโs surface. Mirror staining is difficult to remove and can be unsightly; using the correct installation techniques will help prevent this from happening.
It is always recommended to invest in quality tools. Ensure that the correct blades are used and that you have an appropriately powered disc cutter, that can be used for cutting natural Stone.
Jointing your patio can be made easier with an all-weather brush-in jointing compound, which offers the same stability as sand and cement. While many products are available on the market, itโs important to note that very dark-colored jointing compounds may cause minor stains on the edges of light-colored stone.
Please avoid using any acid-based products on sandstone or natural stone to remove excess residue from the edges after jointing, as this can damage the paving.
We strongly recommend thoroughly jet washing your paving after installation, but before jointing. Once the jointing has been completed and cured, give the paving another jet wash.
Sealers are recommended for natural stone. There are many options on the market, from natural finish sealers that maintain the original look to colour enhancers that give the paving a more damp appearance, helping to bring out the colour tones. It is important to follow all instructions provided. Natural stone should not be sealed within the first six months with a non-breathable sealer, such as resin sealer (i.e., varnish). If sealing within this period, a breathable sealer for natural stone must be used, as this allows any minerals or salts trapped within the stone to weather and escape naturally.

Laying a patio can be messy, so itโs crucial to take care when installing the slabs to avoid any staining, sheet down and board down where possible. If you notice any residue on the slabs during installation, clean it off as soon as possible. Substances like wet cement can be much harder to remove once they dry. Remember, anything that remains on the surface of a slab can seep into the stone and cause stains. Avoid using acid-based products for cleaning.
Natural stone is porous and will absorb liquids from anything left on its surface. Wet leaves, bird droppings, and moss can all create stains, and once these substances penetrate the stone, removing the stains can be very challenging.
It is recommended to seal sandstone paving to help prevent staining. Sealing also prevents excess moisture from building up within the natural stone, which can help avoid frost damage as well as the growth of moss, mould, and algae. You should seal your paving approximately 12 weeks after installation to allow enough time for the drying process to complete. If sealing is done before six to nine months, only a breathable sealer should be used.
As part of the drying process, you may notice efflorescence, which is a white or light grey powdery substance that can appear on the surface of natural stone, especially in damp or humid conditions. This is caused by natural salts and minerals coming to the surface of the slabs. Although it may look unsightly, efflorescence will not affect the structural integrity of the stone. This process usually happens within the first three to six months.
Natural stone requires annual maintenance. Using specific natural stone cleaners and black spot removers can help prolong the life of your patio. Over time, you may need to grind out the joints and redo the jointing to refresh the appearance of the patio.

Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is Ivory Mint sandstone paving completely smooth?
Ivory Mint honed sandstone has a smooth, flat surface finish. However, as a natural stone, it may still contain small pits, pores, or fossil markings. These are part of its natural formation and not manufacturing defects.
2) Why does Fossil Mint sandstone have small holes or divots?
Fossil Mint sandstone is a sedimentary natural stone, meaning it contains natural grains, minerals, and fossil content. During the honing process, small voids or softer areas may become visible as minor pits or indentations. These are normal and expected in natural sandstone paving.
3) Does Ivory Mint sandstone vary in colour?
Yes. One of the key benefits of natural sandstone paving is its variation. Ivory Mint slabs can include a blend of cream, beige, and occasional pink or brown tones, creating a unique and authentic finish.
4) Is honed sandstone paving slippery when wet?
Honed sandstone has a smoother surface than riven paving, so it can be slightly more slippery in wet conditions. For areas prone to moisture or shade, additional care or sealing is recommended.
5) Do I need to seal Fossil Mint sandstone paving?
Yes, sealing is highly recommended. As a porous natural stone, sandstone can absorb water and dirt. Applying a quality sealant helps protect against staining, algae growth, and weathering.
6) Is Ivory Mint sandstone suitable for UK weather?
Yes. Indian sandstone paving, including Fossil Mint, is well suited to the UK climate, offering good durability and resistance to frost and general weather conditions when properly installed.
7) Are chips or edge imperfections normal?
Due to the natural composition and sawn edges, minor edge chipping or surface variation can occur. These are typical characteristics of natural stone paving and do not affect performance.
